Achi Chokyi Drolma

Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche & Virginia Blum

This practice is dedicated to invoking the blessings of Achi, the powerful Dharma protector revered within the Drikung Kagyu lineage. Through prayers, visualizations, and offerings, practitioners cultivate a connection with Achi, seeking her guidance, protection, and support in their spiritual endeavors.

Achi Chokyi Drolma holds a central place in the Drikung Kagyu tradition as its primary Dharma protector. She is regarded as an emanation of Vajrayogini and the great grandmother of the founder of the lineage, Jigten Sumgön. Her deep historical and spiritual ties to the Drikung Kagyu make her an indispensable guardian of its teachings and practitioners. She is known for swiftly dispelling obstacles, clearing away negativity, and assisting those on the path to enlightenment.

Engaging in Achi practice is particularly important for dispelling hindrances—both mundane and spiritual—that can obstruct progress on the path. Her prayers invoke her wisdom and compassionate activity, allowing practitioners to overcome challenges and cultivate clarity in their Dharma practice. By reciting her praises and mantras, participants develop a stronger connection to her enlightened activity and receive her blessings.

This practice provides an opportunity for both seasoned practitioners and newcomers to deepen their relationship with Achi. Whether facing difficulties in life or seeking protection for one's Dharma path, engaging in her practice cultivates devotion, stability, and spiritual strength under her watchful care.
